I’m a postpartum doula

You set your rate and choose your families. We introduce you and put every arrangement in writing.

Before any introduction

We check every doula before she meets a family.

Then your payment goes into a trust account, not anyone’s operating funds. The doula is paid only when each care period is complete.

  • Certification verified

    Asian Doula Alliance, DONA, or CAPPA. We check the certificate; we don’t issue it.

  • Background check completed

    Completed before she meets any family.

  • Current CPR certification

    Infant and adult, kept current while she’s listed.

  • Professional liability insurance

    A policy in her own name that covers postpartum doula work.

  • Work authorization confirmed

    Confirmed before she meets any family.

The care

Live-in, daytime, or overnight. You and your doula set the terms.

Hours, rest time, and how long care runs are agreed between you and your doula, then written into the Care Arrangement. Every doula has set rest time each day; that’s the standard in this work.

Full-spectrum postpartum care with your doula staying in your home: feeding support, meals, newborn care, and recovery through the first weeks.

Every step is written down before the next one starts.

For families

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what you need

    Your due date or your baby’s age, the kind of care, the languages you speak at home, and where you live.

  2. Step 2

    Meet doulas who fit

    We share the profiles of doulas who fit what you’ve told us. You meet them and decide who you’d like to work with.

  3. Step 3

    Agree in writing

    Schedule, scope, and your doula’s compensation are settled between you and written into the Care Arrangement.

  4. Step 4

    Care begins

    You pay into the trust account before each care period. Your doula is paid when the period is complete.

    Get introduced

    When a family’s needs fit your profile, we introduce you. Every introduction is yours to accept or decline.

    Agree with the family

    Schedule, scope, and your compensation go into a written Care Arrangement before anything starts.

  4. Step 4

    Care, then get paid

    You care for the family in their home, the way you agreed. When each care period is complete, your compensation is released to you.

Who we are

Cooings Connect is run from our office in Irvine. Call or email before you decide anything. You don’t have to take our word for it:

  • Ask your doula to show you her certificate. Asian Doula Alliance, DONA, and CAPPA each issue their own.
  • Our California employment agency bond is on file (Civil Code §1812.503). Call and we’ll walk you through it.
